Yo - found this on Reddit today.

I didn't know that we all get one free character name change per account.

- Sign in to swtor.com

- click arrow next to your screen name in the upper right-hand corner

- go to My Account

- click on Character Rename: left-hand column, first item

- select your server

- select the character that you want to rename

- confirm

- receive the following message:
Quote:
"Your chosen character will receive an in-game mail. You will need to open the in-game mail and right-click to accept the Name Change token. It will then be added to your inventory. To make the change, you will need to click on the token to initiate the actual name change in-game."
